Siodemka Shopping

Siódemka (the Seven), the name selected for the project, refers to its pivotal, highly accessible location on the S7 Warsaw-Gdańsk express road.  Within  a  few  hundred  meters  of  the  site,  two  other  major  routes  converge  on  Elbląg  – the S22 from Kaliningrad, and the E22 from Malbork.

The project consists of two major tasks. The first task is to construct the new junction called “Lotnisko”, which will connect the shopping center with the S7 road, and the second task is to construct the shopping center with feeder roads connecting the center with the new junction called “Lotnisko” and Akacjowa Street.

The center will comprise two principal elements – a mall anchored by a hypermarket, fashion and other retail anchors, and a retail park anchored by a DIY store. The center will also consist of an open car park, rainwater reservoir, firewater pump station, and firewater tanks.  In accordance with the concept design, the total GLA equals 67.200,00 m2.

The whole complex is generally a one-story block, and only some parts of the buildings have additional floors designed, which will be used for retail, office, social, etc.

The first step to construction is the Enabling Works Tender, which was announced in late November 2011 and carried out during December, with contract signing planned for January 2012.  Due to environmental appeals, the construction process and tender have been put on hold for the next three months.
